Rae Levien
Rae Levien (Soprano) graduated from The National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art (NASDA) in New Zealand with Honours in Voice, and later studied with Ron Maconaghie in Sydney and Frances Wilson in New York. In 1998 she was an inaugural Emerging Artist with Opera New Zealand. She has also worked with Opera Hawkes Bay, Class Act Opera, Outdoor Opera, Opera Odyssey, the Very Small Opera Company and Rockdale Opera. She was acclaimed as Violetta in Rockdale Opera’s La traviata in 2009. She has performed roles in Gianni Schicchi, Macbeth, My Dear Mozart, Hansel and Gretel, Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Madama Butterfly, Paganini, The Yeoman of the Guard, The Pirates of Penzance, Doctor Miracle, The Fairy Queen, Carmen, The Barber of Seville, Die Fledermaus, Don Pasquale, Dr Miracle, The Elixir of Love, The Marriage of Figaro, The Merry Wives of Windsor and The Beggar's Opera. Rae is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Opera Bites.
